Truck and Track

The Haulage & Logistics Buyers Magazine

FOREWORD

by Barbara Ryan, Publishing

Director, Truck and Track

As Truck and Track magazine

continues to grow and reach

an ever-increasing readership, I

sometimes have to pinch myself

to remember that 2019 marks

the 10th anniversary of our first

issue. Me and my small team thank you all for your

support and look forward to the next ten years and

beyond.

Speaking of ongoing success and achievements, in

putting together this latest issue, I realised that this

year’s Multimodal Show (NEC, 18th – 20th June) will

be the 12th staging of the event. During the following

week on 25th and 26th June, Peterborough’s East

of England Arena will host the 9th Temperature

Controlled Storage & Distribution Show (TCS&D). On

the following day (27th June), the Marshall Arena,

Milton Keynes will provide an excellent venue for

the 3rd Talent in Logistics Conference which will be

rounded off with its Awards evening in the adjacent

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. All three milestones

are previewed in this issue and I’m delighted that

the organisers’ efforts in continually delivering

targeted and relevant events are widely recognised

throughout the logistics industry.

Also included in this issue are news items and articles

devoted to the crucial and complementary themes

of Dangerous Goods and Safety & Security. Within

these pages is a wealth of information and advice

relating to a broad range of issues including carriage

of dangerous goods, physical and electronic security,

vehiclemonitoring equipment, documentation in the

digital world and reusable seals to help reduce plastic

waste. We also take a look at latest news from other

industry sectors including ports, rail freight, pallet

networks, workshop equipment, telematics and

battery management.

As you can see, we strive to bring something to

interest and informall our readers across the haulage

and logistics industry. It’s what we’ve been doing for

the past 10 years and we’re confident that the next

decade will provide us with plenty of technological

advances and new developments to keep us just as

busy.

By the way, if you happen to visit Multimodal 2019

(andwhy wouldn’t you?) please drop by the Truck and

Track stand - number 8020 - to say hello. It would be

great to meet you.
