TCS&D 2019
Sustainability focus for refrigerated
transport suppliers at the TCS&D Show
ExhibitorsattheTemperatureControlledStorage&Distribution
Show (TCS&D) are gearing up to showcase their latest solutions
for cold storage and transport, with many companies putting
the spotlight firmly on sustainability in the latest innovations
for the cold chain sector.
Taking place on the 25th and 26th June at Peterborough’s East of
England Arena, the TCS&D Show is the UK’s only dedicated event for
the cold storage and distribution sector.
Exhibitors at this year’s show include Carrier Transicold (stand
E20), which will be exhibiting its next-generation temperature-
controlled trailer system– the Vector®HE 19 (High Efficiency). With
an ultra-modern design, the Vector® HE 19 delivers a reduction in
fuel consumption of up to 30 per cent and a 10 per cent saving in
weight. “This is a huge step forward for trailer refrigeration and
the most important refrigeration unit to be launched by Carrier
Transicold in the UK for a decade,” said Scott Dargan, Managing
Director, Northern Europe. “We’ve combined existing, cutting-
edge technology with a host of new features to help operators
make a step-change improvement in fleet
efficiency and sustainability.” The company
says the system is also 19 per cent more
efficient when plugged into the electrical
grid on standby, meaning operators will
see reduced diesel, maintenance and
electricity bills.
Another
exhibitor
promoting
the
sustainability of its solutions will be
Solomon
Commercials
(stand
E10),
recognised as a leading bodybuilder for
refrigerated vehicles. The company will be
exhibiting its latest home delivery body,
which features advanced panel technology
to result in an incredibly lightweight
design. The chassis of the vehicle is a
Fiat Ducato, converted to electric by BD
Auto, and its green credentials are further
enhanced by the Thermo King E200
fridge unit, which runs on battery power
only, to ensure near-silent and emission-free deliveries. Solomon
Commercials will also exhibit a larger vehicle on its stand. The
18-tonne rigid on a DAF chassis has been designed to ensure
maximum efficiency in operation. Says Anthony Clegg, Sales
Director, “As a dual-temperature vehicle, the compartments are
split by the Solomon-designed movable and stowable bulkhead.
This allows for complete freedom of compartment size, from a fully
open single-temperature, to varying compartment sizes of frozen/
chilled produce.”
‘Ride & Drive’ Experience
Making the most of both the space available at the East of England
Arena and the summer weather, TCS&D 2019 will see the return of
the Ride & Drive Experience Track in the outside display area. “This
is a unique opportunity for potential buyers to test drive vehicles,”
explained Martyn Cogan, Exhibition Director, “including a brand-
new refrigerated vehicle fromMAN Truck & Bus UK.” New for 2019
will be an indoor demonstration area for cold store forklift trucks,
which will feature an exclusive racking display from SSI Schaefer.
