PALLET NETWORKS

Fortec signs armed forces covenant to

show support for veteran workers

The Fortec Distribution Network has become a signatory

of the Armed Forces Covenant as part of its commitment to

supporting military veterans.

Many ex-forces personnel, who often use their experience with

logistics in the services when they enter the private sector, are

valued employees of Fortec.

So, the company chose to show their support for veterans by joining

the Covenant, a bodywhichworks to ensure current and ex-military

personnel and their families are treated with fairness and respect.

Adrian Bradley, MD of Fortec, said: “This is the perfect way to

recognise the contribution that military

veterans make to Fortec, as well as the

fabric of British society.

“Our ex-Armed Forces colleagues are a vital

asset and, by signing the Armed Forces

Covenant, we want to show them that we

value their service – both at Fortec and for

their country.”

Fortec works with ex-forces personnel to

explore business opportunities across the

UK with its national distribution network.

“We can nurture new businesses and offer

a great method of unlocking the potential

of people who acquired their skills in the

military,” Mr Bradley added.

“Fortec is able to provide the necessary

support in order to help them get their

businesses up and running and provide

themwith a national presence.”

The growth in pallet freight volumes

throughout the UK offers logistics firms a

fresh potential revenue stream.

“It may seem daunting, but building a national, or even

international, presence through a network like Fortec will bring

great rewards,” Mr Bradley added.

“Joining a distribution network simplifies that route to market

without stretching resources or taking on too many financial

commitments.”

With more than 80 members, Fortec’s Watford Gap site handles

pallet movements from a range of industries around the UK and

mainland Europe, predominantly in the B2B market.
