Family-owned

haulage

company

Dalton Transport & Storage of Thirsk,

North Yorks, now celebrating 35 years

in business, ordered a new flagship

26.640 Performance Line tractor unit

at this year’s CV Show. The vehicle was

ordered after MAN Sales Executive Mike

Kavanagh had texted a photo fromMAN

Manchester, where the exhibit vehicle

was being photographed in preparation

for the Show. The colour stood out since

the striking blue was characteristic of

the vehicles owned by Dalton Transport.

Dalton Transport & Storage is a family

business owned by Nigel Wilson and

his wife Anne, supported by their son

Stephen Appleton who will be driving the

newly acquired tractor unit. The haulage

company has been a MAN customer since

1993 and operates ten vehicles in its fleet,

six of which are MAN.

Nigel Wilson commented: “We ordered a

new MAN TGX 26.560 vehicle last year. It

has been a popular addition to our fleet,

and we were in the market for another

when Mike sent through the text.

“Our fleet colour is blue, and we had looked

at the metallic paint but, when we saw

this one with a bit of bling on it, we were

very excited. Seeing it at the Show was fantastic, and we were

very impressed with the look of the vehicle and the size of the cab.

The engine size and fuel efficiency of the new vehicle were also

attractive to us.”

Kavanagh describes the vehicle: “The MAN Performance Line

Edition combines numerous special features in the driver’s cab

and the external design to create an exclusive premium vehicle. It

is only available in the MAN TGX series with the top-of-the-range

Euro VI engine boasting an impressive 640 HP.

“The Show was a great success, and we look forward to continuing

to work with Nigel in the future.”
