COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SHOW2017 REVIEW
Transport operators looking to simplify their operations and
to drive further operational improvements in their business
were eager to see the latest innovations from Mandata at the
CV Show and Multimodal exhibition this year. The company,
which produces integrated transport management software
for operators across Britain, showcased its latest innovations,
which are helping to improve visibility in the supply chain
and provide accurate realtime information to users and their
customers.
Over the past year Mandata has made great strides to bring more
live and useful data into its systems and introduced new features
such as Drivers’ Hours andDriver Calendars – to give traffic planners
more accurate informationwithwhich to plan jobs safely andmore
profitably and react quickly to changes throughout the day.
Mandata’s new Manifest app was also on display. Proving to be
popular amongst Mandata’s installed base, this app enables
manifest details to be sent direct to drivers’ mobile devices for them
to progress – and then for images of paperwork, non-conformance
and PODs to be received automatically back into the TMS as each
job is completed.
The CV Show gave Mandata a chance to present one of the first
adopters of its software with an award. Mandata presented Nagel
Langdons’ team with a Pioneer Award – the first company to break
the 10 million job barrier using Mandata software, as described on
Pages 44-45 of this Issue.
There was also exciting news for new start-ups and small haulage
operators!Mandata previewed a newcloud transportmanagement
system due to launch at the end of 2017.
Mandata TMS Go! is a subscription-based product which comes
with standard functionality to plan, manage and invoice work – all
on one online system. It can be integrated with Mandata Tracking
and the Mandata Manifest app. It gives operators a simple system
to manage work, with the opportunity to grow into the enterprise
version of the software – the Mandata TMS.

Mandata highlights new cloud
transport management system
Taking its largest ever stand at the CV Show, Montracon
(www.montracon.com)displayed two new products in Hall 3, anMT45machinery carrier and a 44-pallet
double-deck fridge, as well as a rigid-bodied curtainsider and semi-trailer
curtainsider showing off the company’s 40-year anniversary livery. The last-named
vehicle also featured innovative specification changes and streamlined bolt-on
options. What is more, Montracon showcased the launch of its new parts website:
from its head office at Doncaster, this British trailer manufacturer uses its extensive
buying power to purchase OE and aftermarket parts for you at attractively reduced
prices.
One of the highlights of Hall 5, Lawrence David of Peterborough
(http:// lawrencedavid.co.uk) exhibited three new vehicles inside, and outside the Hall a
13.6m pallet network, stepframe, double-deck, pillarless curtainside trailer fitted
with a modular hybrid fixed deck. The new vehicles located on the Stand included a
stepframe box trailer made with a new panel material. The panels – in low-density
polyethylene and hot-dipped galvanised steel – are only 8mm thick and give a
weight saving benefit over standard GRP panels, as well as high impact strength and
durability. Lawrence David also showcased a new concept home delivery van (HDV)
body. The body has a refrigerated payload of 1240kg and is manufactured using PET
foam panels, facilitating the body’s aerodynamics with a flush panel finish. The HDV is
fitted with an integral reversing camera system, combined with high-level brake light
and side-assist lamps which suit urban environments. To finish off the exhibits inside,
Lawrence David unveiled a 26t 6×2 Volvo builders’ merchant dropside rigid, fitted
with a Hiab duo crane and brick stack grapple.
