Scania dealer, TruckEast Limited, saw an increase in both MOT
tests and first time pass rate in 2018 thanks to a commitment
to getting it right the first time.
Passing an MOT first time is of increasing importance for hauliers
up and down the country. Not only can a failure mean downtime,
but it can mean further bad news with a negative impact on an
operator’s compliance risk score.
The increased focus of compliance is one thing that TruckEast take
very seriously for their customers and 2018 was a year in which
they heavily invested in processes across the group.
The results paid off with five of its Scania branches exceeding
99% MOT first time pass rate. Norwich, the star performer, had an
impressive 100% MOT pass rate, closely followed by Kings Lynn,
Stowmarket, Wellingborough and Crick, all of which scored 99%
first time passes.
Overall, the group had a grand total of 4,297 vehicles passing their
MOT first time, meaning an average 97.3% first time pass rate –
which exceeds 2017 results by 0.8%.
Regional Aftersales Director - East, Martyn Clipston comments “At
TruckEast, our customers are our priority. Their focus is our focus.
And compliance is a major factor in the transport industry so
ensuring that we do everything we can to get it right the first time
is high on the agenda.”
“2018 was a good performance and proved that focus on the
process works, but our sights are set higher and we aim to continue
to work hard to add value in the services that we offer,” adds
Graham Broughton, Regional Aftersales Director – West.
TruckEast offers both MOT preparation and presentation at its 13
Scania branches and has 5 fully equipped ATF lanes within the
group. All of its dealer sites also offer extended opening hours to
provide additional convenience for operators.
