KINISHI
Improvements in this latest update have focussed on aiding tyre
management and tracking tyres throughout their lifecycle.
360° object detection radar
Kinishi have integrated the new Sentry radar system from Preco
Electronics, demonstrating its object detection capabilities to an
eager audience on their exhibition stand.
The Kinishi touchscreen interface provides a fully adjustable radar
detection zone, with the ability to detect objects from the face of
the radar up to 30 metres away. The width of that detection zone is
adjustable to fit almost all vehicle types.
Multiple sensors can be fitted to a vehicle to provide 360° coverage,
and each sensor can accurately identify the location and velocity of
up 16 people or objects simultaneously with built-in failsafe alerts
to notify the driver of radar obstructions and other issues.
Cargo temperature monitoring
Kinishi systems assist food and beverage companies with the
transport of temperature-sensitive goods. This helps to maintain
correct conditions during delivery and enables companies to
instantly react to any problems that may arise in the course of their
journey.
This is especially important for customers transporting frozen and
chilled foods who are required to comply with the Quick Frozen
Foodstuffs Regulations 2007 and follow an HACCP-based food
safety management system.
Operators can set the temperature thresholds for which they want
to receive notifications. Integration with other telematics features
– such as door opening and closing events – helps to explain any
unexpected rises or falls in temperature.
Driver assistance systems
Fleet managers are focussing heavily on driver behaviour, not only
because of legislation but also because of achievable savings and
business factors.
By monitoring driving behaviour, fuel consumption can be
reduced by 10-30%. Other benefits of “eco-driving” can be a
reduction in accidents by 20-30% and in vehicle maintenance
costs, optimisation of vehicle and driver downtime, environmental
protection and reduced CO2 emissions.
Aftermarket & bodybuilder technologies
The backbone of Kinishi’s new product offering here is a cost-
effective electrical harness system that provides CAN bus-style
communication over standard power cable. Addressable interfaces
can be provided to power and control third-party lights, sensors
and many other automotive electronic systems.
Kinishi provide a modular connector system based around 5mm
cable: nevertheless the vehicle’s existing wiring can also be utilised
without modification. This offers remarkable flexibility both for
commercial vehicle builders – who can minimise the cable harness
– and for fleet operators – who can mitigate costly aftermarket
cable installation.
To sum up, Kinishi have been successful solutions developers and
providers for the commercial vehicle and mobile plant world over
more than a decade, in many cases as pioneers and innovators
setting standards for the rest of the industry to follow.
For example, their engineers have developed bespoke telematics
solutions for companies including Aggreko, Bomag, GE Equipment
Services, Hewden, JCB, Liebherr, Marubeni Komatsu, Metso,
Multidrive, Ringway, Seddon and Takeuchi. Automotive electronics
projects have been successfully carried out for Ford, Aston Martin,
Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Fiat, Mitsubishi, MG Rover, Porsche,
Volkswagen and Chrysler.
Kinishi are also key players in the Leyland, Lancs, based Northern
Automotive Alliance
(http://northernautoalliance.com) alongside
Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Leyland Trucks & Vauxhall.
Accordingly the integrated package of technologies now available
exclusively for you in theUK fromKinishi’s one-stop-shop genuinely
covers all bases – safety, security, efficiency, cost saving and vehicle,
component and driver management.
