New partnership sees UK’s premier column lift
provider TotalKare enter the rail sector
Available in a range of lifting capacities from 5,500 - 50,000kg, the
columns can be configured in sets of 4 to 128 and are supplied to
meet Machine Directive 2006/42/CE and approved to European
EN1493.
The columns, which are easily customised, can be used to lift any
rolling stock, from wagons and carriages through to complete
trains, providing a safe, flexible and comfortable position for
operatives to carry out maintenance, repairs and servicing.
“We have been working with Emanuel for five years, supplying its
heavy-duty four post lifts into the bus and coach and commercial
vehicle sectors,” explained David Hall, Managing Director of
TotalKare.
“We recognised the opportunity to take its manufacturing
expertise into the rail sector, which has similar requirements in
terms of providing a safe and fast means of keeping rolling stock
operational.”
TotalKare’s partnership with Emanuel will be officially showcased
for the first time at Railtex inMay, where visitors to the Birmingham
NEC event will able to see an array of mobile column lifts on display
at their L81 stand.
Alberto Manzini of Emanuel added his support: “We have an

customer service to our clients.

decision to take our existing partnership and move it aggressively

GB Railfreight celebrate release
of newly repainted Class 47s
GB Railfreight (GBRf) are today proud to release from repaint
two of their Rail Service Class 47 locomotives, numbers 47 739
and 47 749 named ‘City of Truro’.
The locomotives have been repainted by Arlington Fleet Services
at Eastleigh and will be moved to Leicester, where they will be
based specially for GBRf Rail Service moves of rolling stock. These
locomotives have been fitted, along with a third 47 727, with
translator and Dellner Couplings for hauling unit stock moves.
47 739 has been painted in the GBRf blue livery and 47 749 has
been painted in British Rail blue livery with GBRf logos and red
backed nameplates. Both have the new GBRf Rail Services logo
applied. Bob Tiller, Director of Engineering at GBRf, said:
“GBRf are pleased to have refurbished and repainted these
locomotives to provide a reliable and efficient traction to our Rail
Services division. With the inbuilt translator equipment, we can
provide a flexible service to multiple unit moves and other rolling
stock.”
TheUK’s leading provider of heavy-duty vehicle lifting solutions
is looking to take its expertise into the rail sector after signing
an exciting new deal with Emanuel.
TotalKare is looking to tap into the expertise of the Italian-based
manufacturer to expand into the sector by introducing
column lifts to train operators.
