Speedy Hire (Speedy Asset Services) has recently ordered four
tri-axle stepframe curtainsiders from Cartwright following
their requirement for ‘a trailer that could carry anything’.
Cartwright engineers worked closely with Speedy Hire to create
a trailer that was multi-purpose in terms of the products it could
carry.
The company, an existing customer of Cartwright Rentals, will
use the semi-trailers to carry a variety of products from rolling
equipment such as large generators and compressors, to medium
sized plant equipment including lawn mowers, lighting systems
and tools for hire.
It is Speedy Hire’s first new build order from Cartwright.
Special features in the design of the curtainsiders for Speedy Hire
include twist locks and lashing rings in the floor to enable the
trailers to carry odd shaped products such as large containers or
cages. Also included is a five-tonne winch and internal rear lifting
ramp, and rear hydraulic ramps as well as an anti-fall facility with
internal beams to prevent employees falling.
Speedy Hire is the UK’s leading hire provider offering a huge range
of tools, plant and specialist hire equipment. It is also a provider
of equipment, rental and support services to clients across the
construction, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, facilities
management, retail, leisure and events sectors, as well as to local
trades and industry.
Mark Woodworth, Head of Transport and Logistics for Speedy
Services, commented: “We wanted to find a trailer that could
quickly and safely secure load in the back but also carry anything
which was key as we have so many different assets in our fleet.
This multi-purpose trailer from Cartwright meets our needs for the
future.”
