Many fleet operators using Merridale fuel management systems have now made

the transition from fuel management software sitting on in-house computers to

Merridale FuelWorks, a more flexible hosted (cloud-based) software solution. Here,

customers’ data is processed centrally, and reports may be accessed using any device

connected to the internet.

In addition to the conversion of longstanding Merridale customers, Merridale has been

successful in winning many new customers, some of which have chosen Merridale after

thorough appraisal against incumbent vendors. Merridale can nowclaimto have over 1200

depot installations using the service to transfer fuelling transactions data for processing via

FuelWorks.

A major advantage of a hosted software facility is that it operates separately to the in-

house IT infrastructure. “There are no complications and transition is totally risk free as far

as implementation is concerned,” says Merridale sales director, Stephen Hannan. “You get

exactly what has been demonstrated and we can set up the system to go live on day one of

the installation of the hardware.”

New customers include Cobley Transport of Leicester who visited the CV show in 2018 in

search of a hosted fuel management solution. “It was simply a question of the functionality

we required and the credibility of the vendor,” says workshop manager, Chris Beet.

Other notable customers include Gregory Distribution which has installed Merridale

FuelWorks following a root and branch overhaul of its depot fuel monitoring systems.

tools & test equipment

Tachographs require the right workshop tools and test

equipment to ensure that vehicle units are tested correctly.

Continental provide quality brake testers that help to keep

fleets operate legally.

Continental will be exhibiting in Hall 4 within the Workshop Hall

this year to specifically showcase their range of brake testers

and workshop tools and test equipment. All these products will

quickly and efficiently calibrate vehicles with Digital and Smart

Tachographs.

“At Continental, we are knownmore as a Tachographmanufacturer

than the additional workshop tools and test equipment that are

also required,” commented Jason Kairies, Product Manager.

“We have worked hard with workshops, OEM’s and operators alike

to provide the best tools for the job and to ensure that Continental

under the VDO brand are the go to people for all things relating

to tachograph including the required infrastructure behind the

vehicle units.

“For a long time, we have been affiliated with several finance

companies that can make the purchasing of this capex equipment

far more manageable with monthly payments starting as low as

several hundred pounds a month instead of paying up front in one

lump sum.”

At this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show 2019, Continental will

be on Stand number 4D81 in the Workshop area of the NEC to

emphasis their involvement in this particular product area.

Smart Tachgraph Seminars will be taking place for all three days of

the exhibition in Piazza Suite 9, NEC, Birmingham. Please register
