TalentinLogisticsisdedicatedtotherecruitment,development,

engagement and retention of the 2.2 million+ people working

in the transport, logistics and warehousing sector. An industry

that keeps Britain moving and contributes over £120 billion to

the UK economy every year.

Founded in 2017, they were specifically developed to support HR,

L&D and Operational professionals within the industry and aim to

encourage organisations to address skills challenges and invest in

training and career progression. Part of their mission is to support

the retention of staff and attract new employees, promoting the

importance of recruiting talent from groups that are currently

under-represented within logistics.

Working to be the go-to voice for advice on attracting, developing

and engaging blue collar workers, Talent in Logistics will share

knowledge and advice on many topics. Most recently encouraging

flexible working, youth employment and employee engagement.

On the agenda for 2019 are items such as mentoring and roles for

ex-offenders and ex-military. Working collaboratively with leading

organisations: they will offer research and thought leadership,

provide tools and create discussions to help employers, and

champion those that work within the industry.

As well as working collaboratively with the industry throughout

the year, Talent in Logistics will also host an annual awards and

conference on 27th June 2019 in Milton Keynes. With 2019 being

the 3rd year and with a new team on board, they are taking a new

approach with a range of new additions and updates to make it the

must-visit event for HR, L&D and Operational professionals within

the sector. 2019 is expected to attract hundreds of delegates who

will gather to share knowledge and celebrate those who keep the

cogs of the industry running daily.

Conference

Being held at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes, the daytime event

will host conference sessions, exhibitors, live competitions and

networking zones.

Split into three theatres; Attract, Develop and Engage, this year’s

conference will be jam packed with panel discussions, seminars

and Q&A sessions including: what future roles in logistics look like,

embracing a diverse and inclusive culture, workforce development,

how to retain talent through employee engagement, and top tips

for a first time manager.

Live Competitions

of the Forklift Operator of the Year competition – sponsored by

Unicarriers UK - where finalists will be put through their paces

with a number of interactive challenges to demonstrate skill and

safety through both technical knowledge and practical lift truck

operation. The competition is open to those who live in the UK and

they must be a qualified counterbalance lift truck operator who

have received training within the past three years.

New for 2019 will be the LGV Driver of the Year competition, which
