Based in Nottinghamshire, Elite Refuse are specialists in the sale, hire and maintenance of waste and recycling vehicles and related parts. With a commitment to fit out the service workshop with up to date equipment, Elite refuse has exchanged its legacy Totalkare lifts for a set of T8AC cabled mobile column lifts. Taken as a set of six, the T8 range of mobile column lifts can be configured as four, six or eight column, depending on the requirements. Each pair is capable of lifting 15,000kg across each axle, making a set of six suitable for most refuse and waste vehicles. The inverted hydraulic cylinder lifting system can be easily moved into place and controlled from any column, connecting via cables for a quick mobile lifting solution. To accompany the new mobile column lifts, Elite Refuse purchase a pair of tall axle stands. Axle stands have a capacity of 7,500kg to support the vehicle whilst raised. They can either be used as additional safety when working under a vehicle (although not required) or temporarily when removing a single column in order to access or change the wheel of a lifted vehicle. Mauricio Smelt, Managing Director of Elite Refuse Ltd, commented: “In our service and repair workshop we deal with municipal vehicles of all sizes so a set of six mobile column lifts suited our requirements. Dealing with Totalkare is effortless and we will continue to return when we have future workshop equipment requirements.” Jack Longstaff, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, said: “We work closely with many customers in the waste management sector and were delighted when Elite Refuse returned to Totalkare to upgrade its legacy mobile column lifts to our newest model.” Totalkare Supplies Forklifter System to Carryduff Forklifts One of Northern Ireland’s leading forklift providers has chosen a lifting solution from workshop equipment experts, Totalkare. Based in Belfast, Based in Belfast, Carryduff Forklift provides forklifts for sale and hire across Northern Ireland. The product range includes new and preowned models of Toyota, Aisle Master and Combi Lift forklifts. The service and maintenance arm of the company handles LOLER and PUWER inspections, general maintenance and is formed from on-the-road engineers and an in-house workshop. To support the ongoing maintenance of its fleet of forklifts, Carryduff Forklift has invested in the first Totalkare forklift lifting system in Northern Ireland, following successful commissions elsewhere in the UK. Totalkare’s forklift system is created by combining a pair of its T8DC cable-free mobile column lifts with a forklifting adaptor. The adaptor provides an infill plate and specialised ramp to allow the forklift to drive safely onto the forks of the mobile column lift, which can then be raised. The design is suitable for both three- or four-wheel forklifts and has a 8,000kg lifting capacity – covering all of Carryduff Forklift’s fleet. Compared to more tradition methods including ramps and blocks, this lifting method is safer and more efficient with no fixed position or installation needed. The lift can also be operated by one trained individual, reducing workshop impact during busy periods. Mobile column lifts are normally used in configurations of four, six or eight for heavy duty vehicles. The pair can be charged using only single phase power supply and can provide a large number of lifting cycles between charges. The inverted hydraulic cylinder lifting system has no interconnecting cables and instead operates through radio synchronisation further reducing safety considerations. The forklifter system is being supported by a Totalkare service package. David Greer, Director at Carryduff Forklifts explained: “We saw the forklifting system advertised by Totalkare and it looked much more efficient than the lifting system we were using at the time and different to anything else on the market. Our experience with Jack and the whole Totalkare team has been effortless from start to finish.” Jack Longstaff, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare, added “Carryduff Forklifts are the perfect example of how these forklift systems are the ideal solution for a common problem in the industry. The equipment has already had an impact of productivity as the engineer team are easily able to access the underside of any forklift in the workshop.” For more information on Totalkare’s Forklifter System speak to the experts.
