United Pallet Network sponsor AFC Bournemouth as a crazy year for the sector draws to an end

United Pallet Network sponsor AFC Bournemouth as a crazy year for the sector draws to an end

United Pallet Network (UPN) have entered into a major sponsorship agreement with leading Sky Bet Championship Football Club – AFC Bournemouth. The high-profile sponsorship agreement with this dynamic, progressive club is offering UPN excellent brand exposure opportunities across the UK and beyond for the duration of the 2020 – 2021 season.

The UPN logo features prominently on the team’s shorts at all league and cup home and away games. In addition, as a part of the agreement UPN will feature prominently across a wide range of AFC Bournemouth public facing promotional opportunities including – perimeter and programme advertising, media interview advertising, online promotion, and social media promotion.

“UPN is really proud to sponsor AFC Bournemouth,” said David Brown UPN Managing Director, “We are a fast-growing and successful company so it’s a great fit working with AFC Bournemouth a club that has itself grown significantly in just a few years.”

Known as “The Cherries” - the elite south coast club was just last year challenging in the Premiership against clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United and includes exciting players such as – Dan Gosling, Dominic Solanke, Amir Begovic, and Junior Stanislas.

“We are delighted to be partnering with UPN in the Sky Bet Championship,” said AFC Bournemouth Commercial Director – Rob Mitchell,

“The league is one of the most watched and supported football divisions in the world and offers great exposure and opportunities for companies to harness the powerful brands of both AFC Bournemouth and the Sky Bet Championship. We are looking forward to working with UPN.”

It’s been a great start to the season too for AFC Bournemouth with the club already riding high at the top of the Sky Bet Championship and also taking Manchester City the full ninety minutes in a closely fought cup defeat at the Etihad.

The announcement of the deal has been a welcome boost to UPN and its membership in what has been a hugely challenging year for the sector.

Covid-19 has had a major impact everywhere not least in UK logistics and the pallet network sector where the APN reported an initial dip in volumes.

“UPN saw some short-term pandemic effects with a drop in volumes at one point, although volumes rose quickly, and we are now operating at record volumes,” said David Brown.

“It was a great lesson though for the logistics sector in general. It highlighted the importance of the excellent flexibility of pallet networks and our ability to manage big swings in volume in a highly efficient and professional manner. This is something service users can draw from in the future as UPN continue to offer that flexibility to provide high quality upscale and downscale solutions for the market.

“Our sector has overcome some incredible challenges this year, and I am incredibly proud of our membership,” said David Brown.

“It has been a testing time and they have demonstrated their strength. Getting goods to people, essential goods a lot of the time, is what we do, and I think people have come to realise how important we are. We are key workers, we are not the NHS in the front line, but we do provide a vital service – when supermarket shelves are suddenly empty, people realise just how important. The important thing is to remain upbeat and positive about the future, be as prepared as we can be and keep things moving.”

Established in 2001 and now heading into its 20th year, as the only privately owned UK Network, UPN has grown strongly and steadily into a high-quality palletised freight distribution network. Focussed on business growth through member success, UPN currently have over ninety haulier members covering the whole of the UK, and European partners providing coverage throughout 26 countries.
