United Pallet Network (UPN) recently celebrated seventeen years of success and growth at the company’s Annual Awards evening in Nottingham.

At a spectacular event attended by over three hundred guests, twenty four UPN members were awarded Platinum status recognition for service quality excellence across all UPN KPI measures

UPN is continuing to establish its position in the pallet network sector with its “Unique IQ” - “IT” and “Service Quality”, with the announcement of five new members – Team C Express Logistics, Westons Transport, First Choice Transport, R&P Clarke, and Richard Read Transport.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Team C Express Logistics into our network despite fierce competition from some other networks,” said Andrew Knowles, South East Regional Director. “This ‘new signing’ for UPN is testimony to our reputation within our sector as a high quality operator that is different in both its proposition and level of member support.”

Established in 1997, Thetford based Team C Express Logistics offer a comprehensive range of guaranteed same day, overnight and international services.

“We have built our reputation by providing exceptional customer service and believe in having close contact with our customers to ensure a successful long term working relationship. We always look to provide a level of personal attention the high street carriers simply cannot match.” Commented Managing Director, Tim Clements, “As a professional transport company, our firm aim, quite simply, is to be the best. UPN is well known for its flexible high quality service. We believe this partnership will prove to be a perfect match.”

Erith based Westons Transport have been in business since 1974. In parallel with its Pallet Distribution business, Westons operate a range of services including same day and events transport and will be handling DA postcodes for UPN.

“We are delighted to have become a member of the United Pallet Network”, said Lee Weston. “We knew, when choosing UPN over several other networks, that we were joining a quality driven network which would quite quickly become integral to our business moving forward”.

Deptford based First Choice Transport is handling SE London postcodes for UPN.

“Our First Choice Transport promise is to help our clients professionally and reliably,” said Bobby Cooper, First Choice Transport, “Our new relationship with UPN will strengthen that commitment with its high quality pallet distribution network.”

Basildon based R & P Clarke has been in business for over 25 years. In parallel with its Pallet Distribution business R & P Clarke operate a highly successful contract haulage business and VOSA Testing station facility.

“We are delighted to have become a member of the United Pallet Network”, said Paul Clarke of R & P Clarke, “We knew when choosing UPN over several other networks that we were joining a quality driven organisation which would quite quickly become integral to our business moving forward.”

Returning to UPN is Gloucestershire based Richard Read Transport a company that has been in business since 1946.

“Back together again!” said Richard Read, Managing Director. “The grass isn’t always greener. I am extremely pleased that we are back working with familiar faces and a flexible reliable company for our nationwide pallet freight distribution. Since re-joining UPN, not only have we secured new business but we have seen the return of a number of Customers that we were previously unable to service.”

UPN currently have over 90 members covering the whole of the UK, and European partners providing coverage throughout 26 countries.

“I am really pleased to be welcoming these high quality members into our network. Being part of UPN means our new members will now have access to the widest range of UK next day and economy services for palletised freight,” commented David Brown, UPN Managing Director.

“They will also be able to send freight in the widest range of freight types, from 150kg up to 1,200kg per pallet.”

The UPN network is underpinned by an advanced web based performance monitoring system to provide customers with clear on-going visibility of all freight movements. Clients also have access to an online customer booking system, a track and trace facility and real time live signature capture.

“One of our strengths over our competitors”, said David. “Is our sophisticated in house IT system, with live signature capture on both IOS and Android platforms.”

This year, UPN has established its position in the pallet network sector with its “Unique IQ” Initiative which homes in on the company’s distinct point of difference within the sector in terms of its “IT” and “Service Quality”, its unique IT support systems and infrastructure, and its focus on service quality excellence.
