Totalkare launches headlamp testers & smoke meters

Totalkare launches headlamp testers & smoke meters

Commercial vehicle operators and workshops will soon have access to ‘mobile’ products for three critical tests thanks to Totalkare.

The UK’s leading provider of lifting and testing solutions has increased its product range even further with new smoke meters and headlamp testers.

The additional flexibility and unrivalled performance of these products will be welcomed by firms looking to achieve compliance on their HGV or van fleets.

The new additions boost Totalkare’s core portfolio, including its market-leading T8DC mobile column lifts, heavy-duty two post lifts, light commercial four post lift and the increasingly popular G8AC wash bay column lift - all of which can be lease purchased over a period of time to suit workshop requirements.

“We believe that we are unique in the UK in being able to supply a fully mobile solution for all three tests, tests that typically go hand-in-hand,” explained David Hall, Managing Director at Totalkare.

“Workshops have to be more efficient than ever as they are servicing, maintaining and repairing more vehicles every week and this requires maximising every inch of space.”

He continued: “Headlamp and smoke tests are relatively quick to carry out and can be done while the vehicle is in for brake testing.

“The products we are bringing to the domestic market are proven to deliver optimum flexibility and come with connected-ready-technology that means the results can be sent directly to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in anticipation of updates in the law.”

Introducing…Headlamp Testers

The main reason for annual test failures for HGVs and commercial vehicles is faulty headlamps, but this can be easily rectified if the workshop conducts an efficient headlamp test.

Totalkare’s electronic version features pre and post diagnosis report, multi-zone implementation, the latest lighting diagnosis and can be used without rails on an imperfect floor to allow the user to move it where the vehicle is located in the workshop.

It can also measure the floor gradient and then compensate for it during testing, ensuring the unit can be used where traditional options can’t.

Introducing…Smoke Meter

Working in partnership with Premier Diagnostics, the Totalkare smoke meter has been designed to meet the latest DVSA requirements for the truck, bus and car markets.

It comes with fast and easy-to-use test routines to support increased productivity, whilst everything is controlled from a dedicated, rugged tablet device, creating a solution that is simple to work.

Automatic calibration is incorporated into the product, which can operate down to -15c and within 100 metres range from the workshop.

Successful launch

Last year’s Commercial Vehicle Show was a milestone moment in the history of Totalkare, with the Halesowen-based firm introducing its first non-lifting product to its portfolio.

The move came after extensive feedback from existing customers and saw the firm launch its technically advanced mobile and in-ground brake testers, viewed by many experts as being amongst the strongest and most reliable systems currently available.

These were supported with the appointments of two sector specialists in Graham Simmons and Luke Simmons.

David concluded: “It certainly proved a wise decision. Our sales targets for the first twelve months were surpassed in just 100 days and our systems are installed and currently being used in the bus and coach, commercial vehicle and waste and recycling sectors, along with several local authorities – ably supported by our nationwide team of field service engineers.

“We have had lots of positive comments from current users, including Endurance Vehicle Solutions, B&M Waste Services and Endeavour Coaches.”
