SNAP Account – greater efficiency, greater profit
All businesses, large or small, should always be on the look out for ways in which they can improve their operations; more efficiency, more profit. For those in the haulage industry, opportunities to improve efficiency are not necessarily easy to come by, often it can be factors outside of their control that can impact their bottom line. Fuel prices and emissions charges are just two examples of ways in which haulage companies can suffer, without the ability to do anything. However, they can quickly and easily streamline one aspect of their operations with SNAP Account.
Founded in 2010, SNAP Account is the market leader in cashless payments for HGVs. In an effort to streamline fleet operators’ efficiency at no additional cost, SNAP began by offering cashless payments for truck parking and washing, using the vehicle’s registration number. This proved immensely popular and they soon branched out into additional services; the Dartford Toll, pre-bookable, secure Depot Parking and an all-encompassing Roadside Assistance package can now be added to accounts. Each client can create and customise their own account, placing frequency control limits on washing or signing their yard up to SNAP as a Depot site, opening a whole new revenue stream for the business.
By using licence plate recognition to bill services to the company, drivers no longer have to carry cash, and fleet operators receive a simple, weekly itemised invoice that details recent expenditure on the account. There are no monthly fees, no fear of PCNs and no repaying drivers’ expenses either; simply put, SNAP offers clients the ability to run their businesses in a much more efficient and productive manner.
While the Dartford Crossing also utilises vehicle’s licence plate numbers for payment, the payment method created by the government for the crossing is not particularly popular; with strict fines (£70 if unpaid before midnight the following day) and an easily forgotten online account system that requires constant topping up. Payment for Dartford can be done through SNAP Account in a much more convenient manner – once the vehicle’s licence plate is added to the account, any crossing fees are simply added to the invoice along with other services.
With future expansion across Europe, they will be able to give registered drivers even more choice of where to park and wash their vehicles. Without the worry of using a debit or credit card in a foreign country or needing to sort out foreign currency before travelling, parking at SNAP’s European sites makes it far easier for the drivers.
Their newly revamped Roadside Assistance covers drivers for a wide variety of services including replacement vehicles, uninsured loss recovery and repairs to the vehicle. The main benefit about this service is that it is all done with one simple phone call, they do all the legwork, meaning users do not have to worry about who to call and what to do in the event of an accident or breakdown. This can also be added to existing customers’ weekly invoices, further simplifying the working lives of drivers in what could be a very stressful time.
SNAP’s unrivalled convenience combines a variety of important haulage transactions into the easiest and most straightforward cashless payment system there is. And from the perspective of a haulage company’s accounts department, when the drivers are with SNAP, processing the weekly invoices instead of the laborious task of sorting receipts and cash, it really is a no brainer. Any company wishing to streamline their accounts would benefit from this service.
“I’ve been on board with SNAP virtually from day one. As it has grown, it has given my drivers more flexibility in where they can park without having to spend their own money and claim it back. It also eliminates the risk of losing receipts and consolidates all my parking charges on one, easy to process invoice. The constant addition of new parking/washing facilities just makes the job that little bit easier. The communication from SNAP is second to none, with regular updates on new and discontinued sites. All in all, an extremely good service, efficiently run and very cost effective.”
