Once again, this year we have seen big developments in the sector with more ownership changes and networks continuing to deal with transition challenges of previous years’ power shifts. Amidst this multitude of change and evolution, UPN now sits as the only privately-owned Pallet Network in the UK. At a spectacular extravaganza at the EMCC Nottingham, UPN and its members old and new gathered to celebrate 18 years of solid growth at the company’s Annual Awards evening. As well as rewarding the top performers in key Award categories, on the night UPN announced 35 2020 Platinum Member Awards prestige recognition for the highest performing members across its UK network. In addition, 59 UPN Members achieved Gold Award Status. Top UPN member Bow Distribution were showcasing their new fully liveried UPN vehicle - the UK’s first Mercedes Benz Actros with mirror-camtechnology replacingmirrors. Themirror-camimproves aerodynamics, safety and vehicle handling. The lack of exterior mirrors, along with new rear-edge flaps, helps to improve the Actros’ aerodynamics, which goes on to improve fuel consumption. Master business guru “David Brent”, with his usual highly polished professionalism, opened and skillfully mentored guests with his perceptive observations on modern corporate life before world class “Supreme Queen” provided a “Kind of Magic” to energize the evening with a powerful and dynamic performance. A silent raffle and auction at the celebration event raised important funds for key UPN Charities.
