This expansion has enabled CBF to increase its stockholding capacity and the company now holds in excess of 4,000 product lines which are available for immediate ex-stock delivery. Within the expanded warehouse, the company has upgraded its in-house production facility. A modern workshop accommodates the custom manufacturing of Cool-Guard insulated bulkheads Precision CNC routing machine which features state-of-the-art technology which allow temperature zoning in refrigerated trailers, trucks and vans. Cool-Guard bulkheads are now a regular feature in the vehicles of many major retailers and foodservice companies. With a growing customer base for this innovative product, CBF produces and supplies the bulkheads to specific requirements within seven to ten days. Six months ago, CBF invested in a latest generation automated CNC routing machine which features state-of-the-art technology to ensure precision accuracy. This is essential during the production of Cool-Guard bulkheads, guaranteeing that the first one off the production line is exactly the same as the 100th. In-house testing at the Coseley site includes the use of an Ascott salt spray cabinet for sections such as sideguard system components and mudguard stays and brackets in under-chassis locations. This equipment enables CBF to conduct salt spray tests that replicate hostile road and weather conditions found during winter months. During salt spray testing, clean compressed air atomises salt water into spray via the atomiser located inside the chamber. The company’s 4000+ product lines are highlighted in CBF’s latest full colour catalogue. Widely acknowledged as the industry’s bible, the recently-published 9th edition comprises 325 pages detailing the comprehensive range of building and trailer manufacturing hardware products available. The catalogue highlights awide range of Type Approved, E-Marked and EMC Approved products, and all products are approved to the appropriate Standards. Importantly, CBF is certificated for ISO9001:2015 quality management system. In recent times, CBF has been keen to establish and implement an environmentally-friendly approach to its working practices. For example, the company has introduced a range of ‘healthier’ protective coatings on its extensive range of products. These high performance coatings not only meet stringent European-wide health and safety standards, but also ensure enhanced resistance to corrosion and contamination thereby increasing product performance and reliability. Alongside this greener initiative, CBF has insisted upon a drastic reduction and, in many cases, a complete elimination of single-use plastic by its global suppliers. As a result, the use of plastic bags has been virtually eradicated with many products now arriving in a variety of recyclable boxes. Another recentmove byCBFhas been the introductionof its Just Say No campaign. This initiative is aimed at highlighting the company’s proven solution to the problem of rusty curtain tensioners. CBF’s range of Armour-Ten curtain tensioners are now supplied with Armour-Tech (AT600) surface coating which has been thoroughly salt spray tested for over 600 hours. The high specification of the Armour-Ten series also includes a square internal shaft plus a unique ‘direct’ drive ratchet that eliminates the need for a pin to attach a ratchet cog to a central drive shaft. The range also features a robust design with a four ‘click’ ratchet action, front and rear fixing options, a stainless steel grease nipple and, importantly, an extremely competitive price. www.cbf.uk.com
