WH Bence is one of Europe’s leading specialist vehicle manufacturers, creating mobile spaces for a range of sectors. The company has enjoyed rapid growth over the years and Totalkare has been proud to be part of that journey for over 15 years, in a relationship which has been extended further following the purchase of a new set of mobile column lifts. Totalkare’s state-of-the-art T8DC cable-free mobile column lift was the perfect solution for W H Bence as the columns can be easily manoeuvred around the workshop, providing flexibility of lifting positions. The adjustable wheel forks facilitate the lifting of vehicles with a range of wheel diameters and the lifts can be configured in sets of four, six, or eight providing a solution for any lifting requirement. The mobile column lifts will be supported by a full repair and maintenance package from Totalkare, including two field service engineer visits per year as standard. Thought leaders fromacross the supply chainwill share insight and knowledge during the event, to be held at this year’s Multimodal Exhibitionbetween19thand21stOctober2021at theBirmingham NEC. The speakers will look at how tech innovation, modal shift, and people power are shaping resilient supply chains. “Sustainability is not just a buzz word, it is a key driver in today’s business landscape,” said Robert Jervis, Exhibition Director, Multimodal. “Multimodal has a proud history of tackling the issues that matter and providing a neutral platform for the industry to debate and learn. “We share Logistics UK’s belief that our sector is the backbone of the economy and they are a natural partner for us to work with.” Elizabeth de Jong, Director of Policy for Logistics UK, will open the seminars with a keynote speech covering the Logistics Report 2021 and looking at the resilience of the supply chain sector across all modes. The Logistics Report contains data from national and international sources including government departments, Non-Governmental Organisations and industry bodies across rail, road, air, and sea and includes bespoke analysis commissioned by Logistics UK on business costs, business sentiment, and the challenges facing the industry. “Logistics UK is delighted to be partnering with Multimodal for this seminar series at such a key time for our sector,” said de Jong. “With decarbonisation, technology, Brexit, and other disruptors changing the way we move goods and services through the supply chain, this three-day event will be the perfect opportunity for attendees to debate the crucial issues of the day.” The opening plenary session will include shipper voices and look at the state of logistics in a post-Brexit and post-Covid world. Logistics UK speakers will examine key policy issues for road, rail, warehousing, as well as maritime, ports, and inland waterways. Brexit strategies will be examined in a panel about what next to expect for trade, as well as a session on how to create value for logistics services buyers with post-Covid supply chain resilience. Tristan Koch, Chief Commercial Officer at Awery, will be discussing the lessons learnt from Covid on the Tech Innovations Panel. Professor AndrewPotter, of Cardiff Business School will explain how 5G will drive efficiencies at ports and there will be a discussion on how to build a diverse Next Gen workforce and put mental health wellbeing top of the agenda. “We areworking to bring together leading and diverse voices to give practical advice and share best practice,” said Jervis. “As well as providing extensive networking opportunities, by delivering useful content, we are reinforcing Multimodal’s position as the leading show in the sector for the UK and Ireland.” Multimodal will also be working with the British International Freight Association (BIFA), the UK Warehouse Association (UKWA), the Rail Freight Group (RFG) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) who will be at the show and offering insight on key topics. The sessions are free to attend to Multimodal visitors and can be booked when registering for the show. Multimodal will welcome supply chain decisionmakers fromacross the UK, Ireland, and Europe to meet leading logistics suppliers. TheMultimodal Awards will take place on 19th October with a gala dinner at the VOX Birmingham.
