Employees of Eddie Stobart Ltd, previously affiliated with Tesco’s rail operation at DIRFT, have transferred across to Maritime under TUPE regulations after a consultation process took place. John Bailey, Managing Director – Intermodal, Maritime Transport: ‘This contract win with Tesco represents another step in our intermodal growth as we continue to reposition our business and focus in a more environmentally-conscious, carbon-cutting economy. DIRFT is a great fit for Maritime and our dedicated central management team, now operating on site, are doing a fantastic job leading day to day operations alongside our new colleagues who we are delighted to welcome to the Company. We look forward to further significant growth opportunities as a strategic partner of Tesco, and continuing to implement our strategy to own and operate the cleanest, most sustainable fullload supply chain in the country.’ Nick Potter, Transport Director, Tesco PLC: ‘We are pleased to strengthen our collaboration with Maritime, using their extensive terminal network and expertise to support our commitment to efficient, low-carbon logistics. Rail freight is one of the many ways we’re reducing our emissions and the network will play an important role in achieving net zero across our operations by 2035.’ GoWash, a national fleet washing account, has this week signed Network Rail onto its ever-growing fleet account. Network Rail operate 10,000 fleet vehicles across the UK, tasked with the job of keeping the national rail network operational. These vehicles are used all year round and hence need to be kept clean while out and about on the road. Following a successful three month trial of the GoWash fleet account on a subset of Network Rail’s vehicles, it has been decided to roll out the account nationally to cover all 10,000 vehicles. The link-up between GoWash and Network Rail has been possible through the relationship with Novuna Vehicle Solutions which is Network Rail’s fleet partner of four years. Lewis McGee, Network Rail Strategic Contract Manager for Novuna Vehicle Solutions, says, ‘We presented GoWash with a challenge, to provide a national solution for Network Rail drivers to access vehicle cleaning simply and quickly. The ease of use, management, and network coverage GoWash’s solution provides made the trial seamless, making it a beneficial new service to roll this out to Network Rail’s wider fleet.’ GoWash now works with over 50,000 fleet vehicles across the UK and the exciting growth of the fleet account has allowed them to grow their national network of hand car washes to over 420 with expectations that this will soon reach 450. Jonny Billing, MD of GoWash, says, This project with Novuna & Network Rail has been an exciting one for everyone at GoWash. When we first proposed this with Novuna, Network Rail had challenges with coverage and ease of service, to wash vehicles nationally. Through the GoWash Fleet Account, they now have complete access to view and control every aspect of their vehicle washing and we look forward to a very exciting partnership moving forwards.’ If you run a fleet of vehicles and are interested in an easy way to keep fleet vehicles clean, then you can read more about the GoWash Fleet Account here - https://gowash.co.uk/fleets Network Rail utilises GoWash to keep fleet vehicles clean TRUCK & TRAILER SOLUTIONS WELCOME TOALLPORTS GROUP allportsgroup.co.uk
