Truck and Track Autumn 2026

www.truckandtrack.com Autumn 2026 Truck and Track 69 COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SHOW 2027 Rail attended in 2026, alongside public-sector fleets including NHS Ambulance Trusts, the Metropolitan Police and the Environment Agency. Rather than representing one narrow area of commercial transport, that audience reflects the full range of decisions required to purchase, operate, maintain and optimise a modern fleet, from major vehicle procurement and fleet replacement programmes through to technology, maintenance and operational investment. “There’s no event like the Commercial Vehicle Show in the UK. The footfall, the calibre of customers and decision-makers all in one place, it’s an unrivalled opportunity to showcase the latest innovations and have real conversations about a fast-changing industry.” Alex Gallagher, Commercial Vehicle Director UK & Ireland, Ford Motor Company Efficiency Moves Up the Agenda for 2027 The picture emerging from 2026 is that fleet efficiency is no longer a conversation confined to fuel consumption alone. For operators, it increasingly means looking across the entire operation, from vehicle choice, maintenance and uptime to route planning, diagnostics, fleet technology and the way assets are deployed. Importantly, that doesn’t mean moving the conversation away from vehicles. Quite the opposite. Vehicle selection sits at the centre of fleet efficiency, with operators increasingly assessing new models against practical considerations such as total operating cost, utilisation, reliability, payload, range and suitability for the work they need to perform. Around that core vehicle proposition sits a wider ecosystem of solutions designed to keep fleets moving efficiently. Workshop equipment, diagnostics, maintenance technology, telematics and operational systems all play a role in improving uptime and extracting greater value from fleet assets. That’s visible in what 2026 visitors said they came to look at: Telematics and Haulage Distribution & Logistics solutions each drew interest from 29 per cent of attendees, IT & Supply Chain Systems from 19 per cent, and Vehicle Diagnostics from 20 per cent, categories that describe operators actively costing out where time and money can be taken out of an existing fleet, rather than browsing for something new. For visitors in 2027, the question will therefore be broader than simply what is new. It will be about what delivers a measurable improvement to their operation, whether through a new vehicle, a more efficient workshop, smarter technology or a different approach to fleet management. Looking Ahead to 2027 Building on those conversations, CV Show 2027 will return to the NEC Birmingham from 20 to 22 April, running alongside Bus & Coach Expo, with a stronger focus on the practical challenges facing today’s fleet operators, including operational efficiency, safety, technology adoption and decarbonisation. The co-location with Bus & Coach Expo continues, keeping road freight, distribution and passenger transport audiences under a single roof, and the content programme is being built to the same standard as 2026, which ran to more than 140 speakers across the three days. Exhibitor interest already points to a show that has grown from 2026 rather than simply repeated it: 85 per cent of the 2027 floorplan is rebooked by returning exhibitors, and the organisers have extended the floorplan to accommodate the additional demand. What This Means Going Into 2027 Put together, the 2026 data points to an industry that is no longer treating efficiency as a side conversation, but it isn’t one that’s moving away from vehicles either. OEMs remain central to the show; efficiency is becoming the thread connecting vehicles, workshop, technology and fleet operations, rather than a separate conversation competing with them. CV Show 2027 looks set to reflect that shift rather than simply provide the venue for it. CV Show 2027 runs 20 to 22 April at the NEC Birmingham, colocated with Bus & Coach Expo.
