Combining the MX-M fuel management system with a bespoke lithium-ion battery solution, the MX-E provides operators with a self-powered, portable fuel management package that can be deployed across a wide range of applications. For fleet operators, farmers, construction companies, quarry operators and other businesses managing fuel away from conventional depot environments, the result is greater flexibility without having to compromise on fuel control, security or visibility. Fuel management without the power constraints Fuel management systems are traditionally installed at established depots where a reliable electrical supply is already available. However, not every fuelling location fits that model. A tank may be located on a remote site, at a temporary operation or in an area where providing a permanent electrical connection is costly or impractical. Even at a permanent installation, the available power supply may not be sufficiently reliable to support critical fuel management equipment. The MX-E is designed to overcome that limitation. At the heart of the system is the Merridale MX-M, a standalone fuel management terminal capable of controlling up to four pumps and capturing the key information associated with every fuelling transaction. The MX-E adds a dedicated battery, creating a portable management package that can operate independently of a conventional mains electricity supply. This means operators can introduce secure, accountable fuel dispensing and digital fuel monitoring in locations where a standard powered installation would otherwise be difficult to achieve. More than a portable solution While portability is an important advantage of the MX-E, its potential applications extend beyond temporary or mobile fuel installations. The system is equally suited to permanent tanks where access to a trusted power supply is a challenge. Rather than designing the fuel management system around the availability of mains electricity, the MX-E allows the power solution to be incorporated into the fuel management package itself. This opens up new possibilities for remote and off-grid fuel storage, while giving operators access to the same principles of control and accountability expected from a modern fuel management system. Whether the tank is moved regularly or remains in one location for years, the MX-E provides a practical way to manage fuel independently from the site’s electrical infrastructure. Bringing the MX-M’s capabilities to more locations The MX-E builds on the established capabilities of the MX-M fuel management system. The MX-M provides secure access to fuel, records individual fuelling transactions and can capture information such as the vehicle and driver involved, fuel dispensed and odometer readings. It can also communicate with Merridale FuelWorks, allowing operators to access their fuel data through a webbased reporting platform. FuelWorks transforms that transaction data into practical management information, helping operators monitor fuel usage, vehicle performance and stock levels, while providing reporting capabilities that can support wider fleet management requirements. With the MX-E, these capabilities can be brought to sites where the absence of a dependable mains supply would previously have been a barrier. Designed for flexibility The MX-E is not tied to a single type of fuel tank or operating environment. It can be incorporated into Merridale fuel management installations across a range of applications, providing a flexible power solution alongside the MX-M. This makes it particularly relevant to businesses operating across multiple locations or managing fuel in environments where infrastructure can vary significantly from site to site. For a temporary operation, the portability of the system can make it easier to establish a managed fuelling point without committing to permanent electrical infrastructure. For a remote permanent installation, it provides an alternative where connecting to the mains is impractical. The introduction of the MX-E represents another step in the development of fuel management solutions from Merridale. Who have been key innovators in fleet fuelling since 1994.
