Truck and Track Autumn 2022 www.truckandtrack.com 60 DANGEROUS GOODS In 2021, and some 30 years on from its concept, Labeline’s founder and Managing Director, Keith Kingham said, “There is nothing better than walking into a nice modern, new office and warehouse facility built to typify our achievements and future development.” This describes Labeline’s new offices and warehouse in the UK and now the company is celebrating the opening of its Central European office and warehouse in The Netherlands. Like many UK exporters, Labeline has recently experienced the challenges of extra paperwork and delays with shipments. This new facility will enable us to provide a muchimproved service to our customers in mainland Europe and beyond. Labeline Europe will mirror all Labeline International’s product range, including dangerous goods (DG) regulations, large stocks of BS5609 quality DG labels and handling marks, UN packaging, documentation, software for IATA, ICAO, IMO, RID and more. The facility will be fully operational to despatch the new round of biennial DG regulations for 2023… What’s new for Air, Sea , Road and Rail? ■ IATA DGR 64th Edition ■ ICAO TI 2023/24 ■ IMDG Code 41-22 ■ ADR 2023 (regular and spiral bound) ■ RID and ADN ■ Labeline’s 6th edition of the Exemptions Guide for Limited and Excepted Quantities. As most DG operators are aware, changes to the regulations are implemented at different times across the transport modes. If you are shipping DG by air, for example, the ICAO Technical Instructions (2023/24), which are transposed into the more commonly used IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, will come into effect on 1st January 2023. For Road and Rail (ADR and RID) there is a 6-month transition period when either the 2021 or 2023 editions can be used. For sea, the IMDG Code allows a full year to apply the changes to the rules.
