| | DFDS (Scandinavian seaways) and Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) have decided to make a joint bid for SeaFrance, the bankrupt French cross-channel ferry operator. SeaFrance was made bankrupt back in June 2010 and has been receiving state aid , via its parent company SNCF ever since, recently the EC competition authority announced it was investigating SNCF’s cash investments in SeaFrance because SNCF is state owned and these cash investments would therefore probably be classed as state aid.
